With over two decades of nursing experience and a passion for improving wound outcomes, Hayley Ryan is known for making complex clinical concepts clear and practical. As the founder of Wound Rescue and former Chair of Wounds Australia, Hayley brings deep expertise in chronic wound care, aged care, and patient comfort. Her session will explore key issues in wound management and what’s next in best practice for aged care clinicians.

With a strong foundation in primary care and over 20 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist, Dina Farag is passionate about improving medication safety for older Australians. As Education Lead at Meditrax, Dina works closely with aged care teams to deliver practical, evidence-based education. In her session, she’ll explore antimicrobial stewardship and what aged care teams need to know to use antibiotics safely and effectively.

Consultant Psychiatrist & Psychogeriatrician, Sydney Psychogeriatric Clinic

Dr David Kumagaya is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychogeriatrician with deep experience across both public and private mental health settings. Specialising in older persons’ mental health, he provides expert care for a range of conditions including cognitive disorders, depression, anxiety and psychosis in older adults. In this session, Dr Kumagaya will explore how mental health changes as we age — and what aged care professionals need to know to recognise, respond and support residents more effectively.
