Clinical education

Meditrax provides staff of residential aged care facilities with the tools to meet educational requirements in compliance with Aged Care Standards 1.3 & 2.3 Education and Staff Development.

Changes to the historical role of the RN in relation to medication administration have necessitated taking steps to ensure adequate competencies for Personal Care Assistants are undertaken to address the expanded roles in medication administration.

Meditrax education covers a comprehensive range of major areas in disease state management and classes of medications. Further development of identified high risk areas such as medication administration and storage are covered.

In service materials include notes and handouts including a clinical supplement to cater to the needs of staff with higher training and allowing personal carers adequate insight and awareness of issues to enhance performance of their duties.

In-service sessions include interactive tools including role playing, puzzles, brainstorming and case studies, thereby cementing the acquired knowledge.

Anticipate that Meditrax training will be approved as part of RN requirements (Nurses and Midwives Board) for ongoing education to support CPE points for continued registration.
